CTS Cloud Backup is a branded version of Cloudberry Backup, a standard and respected program from Cloudberry Lab.

Onsite Backups - Local

Primary protection is provided by StorageCraft ShadowProtect backup software running on each server.  After the initial backup, ShadowProtect creates incremental backups every two hours (or on any schedule you desire).

Backups are encrypted and stored onsite in a Synology network attached storage device or the equivalent, supplied by CTS and included in the cost of the service.  Using a NAS is more reliable than a USB external hard drive and there are some important advantages to using a NAS during an extended recovery.  The need to swap hard drives and take one offsite is eliminated.

ShadowProtect can also be installed inexpensively on workstations if there are no other workstation backups.

Offsite Backups - Local

StorageCraft ImageManager runs daily to verify the backup images and correct any errors.  It consolidates images on a regular schedule so the backup files do not grow exponentially – a single daily image file will replace the files created every two hours, a single weekly image file will replace the daily files, and so on, on a schedule that provides maximum flexibility to recover anything that matters.

Once the files are checked and consolidated, ImageManager will replicate the backup files to a secure offsite storage location.

Offsite Backups - Cloud

CTS Cloud Backup securely backs up server data to Amazon’s S3 cloud storage.  If ShadowProtect is unable to recover files or a server for any reason, this is a completely separate place to recover data files.

The CTS Cloud Backup program is simple and easy. It will frequently be the easiest way to recover deleted files or folders, or previous versions of files.  Anyone interested should spend some time learning how to use CTS Cloud Backup for day-to-day problems.  ShadowProtect is complex and requires specialized training.
